English Black

Some providers will tell you what’s wrong with your face. English will show you what’s already right.

English Black is a board-certified Physician Associate, Allergan Trainer, national speaker, and founder of The Curated Aesthetic, Greensboro’s boutique medspa where precision meets intention. With more than 23 years of experience in medicine and aesthetics, she has built a reputation as one of the Triad’s most sought-after injectors and a trusted expert in aesthetic and dermatological medicine.

But credentials only tell part of the story.

English has been professionally helping people look and feel better about themselves since beginning her medical career in 2002 after graduating Dean’s List from James Madison University. Throughout her career, she has practiced in dermatology offices across Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, and the San Francisco Bay Area, developing extensive expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is an experienced injector with a five-star rating on Healthgrades and is highly skilled in a wide range of non-surgical aesthetic treatments designed to help patients look and feel their best.

Her journey into aesthetics was shaped by a strong medical foundation.

"As a Physician Assistant I started my career in emergency medicine, to foster a well rounded medical education, which was shortly followed by a part time second job in dermatology. After a short, few busy and character building years I knew I was hooked in dermatology. The mix of medical and cosmetic medicine is energizing as is the privilege of seeing all age groups. After 17 years I have found myself with a strong aesthetic concentration. I am still true to my medical roots and pride myself on solid skills and ethical practice. I can honestly say I love what I do." — Physician Assistant English Black

That commitment to ethical practice and natural-looking results ultimately became the foundation for The Curated Aesthetic.

English built her practice around a philosophy that quietly goes against the grain of much of the aesthetic industry: aesthetic medicine, done correctly, should make you look more like yourself—not less like your age, and not more like a trend. Every treatment is guided by her signature FACE Method, a curation philosophy rooted in Foundation, Alignment, Contour, and Enhancement. Rather than changing faces, English helps patients refine and elevate the features they already have.

She doesn’t correct. She curates.

What truly sets English apart is not simply what she does; it’s how she sees. After more than two decades of studying facial anatomy, balance, and aesthetics, she has developed an eye that most providers spend an entire career trying to cultivate. Long before natural-looking aesthetics became a popular marketing phrase, English was practicing patient-led, undetectable aesthetic medicine centered on restraint, harmony, and authenticity.

Her patients aren’t looking to become someone else. They want to feel like the most refined version of themselves, and they trust English to help them get there.

That trust is earned through her approach to patient care. She listens before she recommends. She explains her thought process, not just her technique. She creates individualized treatment plans based on the unique face sitting in front of her rather than following a standard menu of services. Patients often describe her as upbeat, encouraging, and energetic, and they appreciate the genuine connection she brings to every appointment.

The Curated Aesthetic opened in March 2022 and reached seven figures in its first year of operation. English views that success not as a milestone to boast about, but as evidence that patients have been searching for a different kind of aesthetic experience—one built on expertise, intention, and individualized care. She intentionally keeps her practice boutique because she believes volume is the enemy of precision. Every patient receives her full attention, her full expertise, and a treatment plan designed specifically for them.

Many patients arrive after experiences elsewhere that left them feeling overdone, overfilled, or simply unlike themselves. They often leave their first appointment saying the same thing: "I just wish I’d found her sooner."

Outside of the clinic, English’s greatest pride is her family. She is the mother of three children—Rowan, Emerson, and Saylor—and shares her home with two beloved senior dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier and a Goldendoodle. She loves staying active through exercise, skiing, and regular Peloton rides, and enjoys traveling, discovering great food, and spending time with close friends.

If you meet English, don’t let her youthful appearance fool you. She really is closing in on fifty. Like all good healthcare providers, she believes in taking her own medicine.

And after more than two decades of helping patients look and feel their best, she can honestly say she still loves what she does.
